It’s no secret that Christmas is one of the most expensive times of the year. People gather for delicious dinner parties and treat friends and family with all kinds of gifts. On average, households spent GBP 426 on Christmas gifts in 2017. Ironically, the money that we spend on Christmas gifts is not equally appreciated. Recipients would spend less money on a gift item than the person who gave it to them spend on it, reflecting an economic waste of millions each year. • Make sure you set a budget - preferably with cash.
  • Find something personal that reflects you, your friend or your relationship and boost the recipient's appreciation for the gift.
  • Go the extra mile - gifts that show love and effort don't have to be expensive and could be a relief for your Christmas budget.
